Job Summary:

 

Provides district-level, technical support to ensure stability, integrity, and efficient operations of information technology systems that support core infrastructure functions; including disaster recovery planning, and lifecycle management of IT services and applications

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Document, deploy, install, test and servers and applications within a virtual environment
  2. Test, deploy and manage Windows updates and patches
  3. Provide support for Office 365 to include the creation and troubleshooting of email accounts, management of email spam and anti-virus filters, archiving of email accounts and eDiscovery activities
  4. Mange and administer Microsoft infrastructure including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, File and Print Services, SFTP, DFS and Certificate Services
  5. Assist with the maintaining district web services (IIS, Apache, PHP, etc.)
  6. Assists in maintaining enterprise antivirus solution
  7. Functions as the change agent for all changes that impact the infrastructure identifying all impact to the Infrastructure support teams
  8. Develop and maintain documentation of configurations of virtual hosts and servers
  9. Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  10. Interfaces with business area owners to manage planned down time, system maintenance windows and, patching schedules
  11. Perform server security audits, system backup procedures and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  12. Completes other related duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

Required

  • Two or more years of college required
  • At least one year of college or technical school training in advanced technology required

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field
  • Certification in areas of support such as VMWare and Microsoft desired

 

 

Experience:

Required

  • Minimum of five years in systems administration or two years in a system engineer role in an enterprise level environment
  • Advanced knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server platforms 2008 and above
  • Professional level of knowledge of VMWare vSphere ESXI 6.x
  • Professional level of knowledge of Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with managing and administering Office 365
  • Experience with WSUS and other patch management tools

Preferred

  • Technical team leadership experience preferred

Physical Demands:

 

Employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear.  The employee is regularly required to stand or walk, reach with hands and arms and will frequently repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion such as when typing. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision.  The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds such as paper boxes.

 

 

Work Environment:

 

Working conditions are normal for on office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Most work requires using a computer and telephone. Interruptions are frequent. Exposure to electrical fields and electrically charged equipment and moving parts is possible.
