Cafeteria Monitor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervises students during the lunch period; takes appropriate action as needed to provide a safe and clean environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education:

 High school diploma or GED required

 

 Experience:                           

 Experience working with school age children preferred

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establishes acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria
  1. Supervises students entering and leaving the cafeteria and assists students with the seating process
  1. Supervises the social behavior of students
  1. Ensures students adhere to cafeteria procedures and rules
  1. Maintains an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch
  1. Reports inappropriate student behavior to the appropriate personnel
  1. Dismisses students in an organized manner
  1. Other duties as assigned by administration

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to walk, stand and use fingers. 

 

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is that common to a school facility.
