Major Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  2. Displays an understanding of the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of the age group and demonstrates high learning expectations for all students commensurate with their developmental levels.
  3. Develops course, unit and daily integrated plans that are logical and sequential using state and district standards, curricula, data, resources and research-based instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  4. Effectively uses instructional technology.
  5. Engages in ongoing communication and shares instructional goals, expectations, and student progress with students and families in a timely and constructive manner.
  6. Uses various formal and informal assessment for diagnostic, formative, and summative purposes to inform, guide and adjust instruction.
  7. Provides a safe, well-managed environment that is conducive to learning.
  8. Models caring, fairness, respect and enthusiasm for learning.
  9. Promotes respect for and understanding for students’ diversity.
  10. Promotes a climate of trust and teamwork in the classroom.
